So this is what I am going with for now.. I love the extra details on the surround, I may paint over the drawer stripes at some point but for now its adding something extra to the pretty plain room. Not bad for a $10 piece I found on craigslist!

I love the makeover, I scored a campaign piece on craigslist a couple of months ago too. Thanks for visiting my blog, that is such a good idea about turning the cube into an ottoman. I actually already have two bamboo stools or else I might borrow that idea.
